Load the manager and staff list, track submissions, export the filled matrix.

Input — manager and staff listWhatever is in this file becomes the whole system. Managers in it get a login and see only their own people. Anyone not in it is removed — their login and their ratings are deleted, so nothing old is left behind and the export is always just this list.

How should managers sign in the first time?

Their Employee ID Send one identical email to everyone — no mail merge. Managers must set their own password the first time they sign in. A manager only gets this if their own Employee ID is in the file — either as a row in their own team, or in an optional manager_employee_id column. Anyone missing it gets a random password instead and appears in a short list to send individually. A random password for each manager More secure. You download a CSV of the passwords and mail-merge it from Outlook. The passwords are shown once, right after upload.

Start a fresh cycle — also delete the ratings of people who are in this file. Use this when beginning a new appraisal year. Leave it off for a mid-cycle correction, otherwise work already submitted is lost. Also issue a new password to managers who already have a login. Their current password stops working and they are signed out, so only use this if you are sending everyone fresh details. Ratings are not affected.
